Types of Ballers

Through my years running a kickball league I have identified several different types of ballers. Here is my interpretation:

Die Hard Baller - one that shows up to every kickball event and participates in multiple leagues.
Competitive Baller - one that does not partake in the traditional adult beverages and makes it a point to win at all costs.
Social Baller - one that is here for the fun of the game.  Not too much concern on the outcome of the game, but appreciates the social aspect of the kickball family.
Boozing Ballerone that is all about the adult beverages and perceives kickball games in the traditional sense of a school yard activity.  May make it to the game, but lives for the drink specials.

I am no expert on sociology, but this is how I see it.  There may be some crossover between each type of baller, however at its core these seem to be the most prevalent.

Why Kickball?

Kickball is simplistic in nature and speaks to a variety of individuals.  Competitors, socialites, bar flies, networkers, singles, and couples all have a place within kickball.  We like to think of ourselves as a family.  Our family grows each season through word of mouth; our craft has reached thousands of ballers across the country.
Individual leagues like TX Freedom cater to their specific region.  The Colony is where TX Freedom resides.  Ballers from the area meet up each week to take part in sanctioned kickball games in the quest for the coveted Championship Trophy.

Post game the league (90+ people) head to our sponsor bar (Rugby House) where drink and food specials have been negotiated specifically for Kickball members (ballers).

Inaugural Kickball Post

Happy Holidays to everyone out there.  It is a great time of year for reflection on the past and what is to come in the future.  Our kickball league's future is promising.  Always growing and progressing with new members, new events and new ideas pushing it along.

This is my inaugural post to kick off some new and exciting changes.  I work for WAKA Kickball, but each league is only as good as the person(s) running it.  I look forward to what is to come in the future.
